With a storied history spanning nearly 70 years, Scott Sports is an established innovator and producer of bicycles, e-bikes, ski equipment, running shoes & apparel, and both snowmobiling and motocross gear. The company got its start in 1958 when its founder, Ed Scott, engineered tapered aluminum ski poles to replace the steel and bamboo poles which were standard at the time.
The brand first ventured into bicycles in 1986, when it released its first mountain bike. Since then, the company has made numerous industry-changing innovations as it continued development of mountain bike design and expanded into the road, gravel, and electric markets.
In 1989, the company introduced the first aerodynamic handlebar, which was used by Tour de France winner Greg LeMond in the same year. Scott revolutionized mountain biking in 2003 with the Genius, a full-suspension bike offering multiple travel modes. It also developed many record-breaking lightweight road and mountain bikes before its 50th anniversary.
Scott first entered into the e-bike market in 2011 with the E-Venture, a mid-drive commuter developed in collaboration with Bosch. Now, its electric lineup includes mountain, gravel, road, urban, and all-terrain/SUV styles, each made following the company’s mission statement of INNOVATION – TECHNOLOGY – DESIGN.
